Small but biggest so far

The installation of five Vestas 800 kW turbines brings Norway's wind power capacity to 15.7 MW. The five turbines are sited at Mehuken, Raudeberg, on the island of Vågsøy in the Nordfjord district of Sogn and Fjordane county. The project owner says that aside from being the biggest so far, the wind plant is special because it is the first time in Norway that typical "inland" power companies -- Buskerud Fylkeskraft and Østfold Energi Produksjon -- have gone to the west coast, where the wind is strong, to build a wind power station.
