The now-4MW platform was initially developed back in 2010 with the V112 3MW variant and since then Vestas has made many different evolutions but still within the 3MW range.
"This summer we launched the V117 4.2MW, the V136 4.2MW and the V150 4.2MW and that prompted the change of the name to become a 4MW platform covering all the variants we offer to the market," Knut said at the 2017 WindEurope conference in Amsterdam (28-30 November).
"We are still supplying something that is innovative and competitive but it is still something that is tried and tested," he added.
